HPA SERIES HIGH CURRENT AMPLIFIERS

HPA 6402

For a sound system engineer, whether an installed sound or touring system, only one thing matters: "The Show Must Go On."
A pro-audio system, coupled with the high-performance professional loudspeakers, demands high-performance amplification. CSC HPA series amplifiers are best suited for both install and touring verticals.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

  • Large thermal headroom
  • High current
  • Sonic performance
  • Ease of service
  • Reliability

HPA series amplifiers are a combination of Linear Power Supply mated with high-efficiency Class-D output stage. The PCB design is fairly modular. On-field replacement is as easy as unscrewing a few fasteners, dropping in a new PCB, and you are back in business.

AMPLIFIER TOPOLOGY

HPA Series is a Class-D 7th Generation Post filter feedback Monorail Full-Bridge using an active common-mode error correction in the output stage. The high-current output stage has a large dynamic headroom, high-speed transient response with optimized cone control. The output devices employed are state-of-the-art from the IXYS GenX3 class-driven through a dedicated isolated driver using a floating power supply.
The Triple Stacked output inductor Cores ensure enormous headroom before reaching any saturation current limitation.

POWER SUPPLY

A toroidal transformer coupled with dual bridge rectifiers linked with high capacity bus capacitance storage forms the instantaneous power reservoir's heart. Rapid current dispersion at sustained loads gives that extra warmth and unlimited power to drive the largest subwoofers.

PROTECTION

In abnormal conditions such as high temperatures of internal heat sinks or a short in the output stage, kicks in the advanced protection circuits. The limiter automatic gain reduction activates in overcurrent conditions or the output voltage limitation during clipping. The limiters swiftly reduce the drive signal keeping the output stage free from distortion.
In countries with unstable power conditions, all CSC amplifier monitor mains AC and shut down in situations where the supply voltage is under 170VAC or exceeds 270VAC. The component rating in the amplifier sustains voltages of up to 440VAC.

Key Features

  • Robust high current CLASS D amplifier
  • Sturdy 2U chassis size
  • Stable to 1 ohm.
  • Full power bandwidth 10hz-20 kHz.
  • Reliable Toroidal linear power supply.
  • Large thermal headroom using Variable speed bluefin fans in push-pull orientation.
  • Speakon connector used/ the 50A version.
  • Damping factor > 1000
  • Protections against under-voltage/over voltage (170-260v).
  • Sustains voltages up to 440v.
  • High pass, low pass & subsonic filters
  • K-EQ curve.

A full-Bridge Output Stage Architecture enhances energy recycling, eliminating bus pumping, ensuring efficiency & reliability—superior thermal headroom for countries where day temperatures exceed 45 degrees and voltages questionable.
